DECISION AND REASON:
--An information was lodged by Stipendiary Steward Mr S Ching, alleging Miss Jan Cameron, the rider of HOBES, failed to weigh-in after the running of Race 5, MLT Three Rivers Hotel/Power Farming Southland Handicap.
--HOBES finished sixth in a non-dividend or stakes winning place.
--Miss Cameron admitted the breach, stating that the appalling weather conditions that persisted throughout the race, combined with her horse finishing at least five lengths behind the fifth placed horse, effected her judgement in weighing-in.
--Miss Cameron also stated that the judge's call was difficult to hear, and that the weigh-in area was very congested and not organised.
--In fixing penalty, the committee considered all of Miss Cameron's points, and acknowledged along with Mr Ching that the weather conditions at the time did not assist the process.
--Miss Cameron was fined the sum of $100, and reminded of her professional obligations.
