Following race 4 an information was filed pursuant to Rule 871(1)(d) when it was alleged by the informant, Stipendary Steward Mr A R Coles, that Mr M T Coleman permitted his mount, DETENTION, to shift inwards near the finishing post on the 1st occasion
Following race 4 an information was filed pursuant to Rule 871(1)(d) when it was alleged by the informant, Stipendary Steward Mr A R Coles, that Mr M T Coleman permitted his mount, DETENTION, to shift inwards near the finishing post on the 1st occasion when not sufficiently clear dictating MR COLOMBO (L Cropp) into the line of FRENCH BEAU who was checked and tightened SPEKT (A Peard).
--Mr Coleman admitted the breach.
--Mr Oatham demonstrated the head-on video which clearly showed DETENTION, who was racing 4 wide, gradually move in towards the running rail, causing MR COLOMBO to take the line of FRENCH BEAU with the resultant tightening of SPEKT.
--As Mr Coleman admitted the charge the committee is only required to adjudicate on penalty.
--Mr Coles gave Mr Coleman's good record and added that he felt that a suspension was deserved.
--Mr Coleman did not give notice of any future riding engagements.
--In coming to its decision the committee considered the severity of the offence, Mr Coleman's record, and his admission of guilt.
--Mr Coleman is suspended from the conclusion the conclusion of racing on 4 August till the conclusion of racing on 15 August, 3 days.
