Following race 3 an information was lodged by Stipendary Steward Mr C George pursuant to rule 871(1)(d) when he alleged that Mr A Peard allowed his mount to shift out near the 300 meter mark when not clear of SINGLE MALT
Following race 3 an information was lodged by Stipendary Steward Mr C George pursuant to rule 871(1)(d) when he alleged that Mr A Peard allowed his mount to shift out near the 300 meter mark when not clear of SINGLE MALT which had to be checked and lost running to which it was entitled.
--Mr Peard admitted the charge.
--Mr George demonstrated the video and showed Mr Peard angle his mount out and in doing so take the line of SINGLE MALT who got a sharp check.
--As Mr Peard had admitted the charge we are only required to adjudicate on penalty only.
--Mr Cameron gave Mr Peard’s record of 3 suspensions in the last 12 months. He asked for a penalty of 4 days suspension.
--After considering Mr Peard’s record, his admission of guilt, and the interference involved we suspend him from riding beginning on 10 January till the finish of racing on 16 January 2008. (4 days).
