Following race 4 an information was filed pursuant to Rule 520(4)(c ) when it was alleged by the informant, Stipendary Steward Mr A Coles, that Mr G Cooksley was unable to make the weight for STAR OF RIO

DECISION & REASON:
--Following race 4 an information was filed pursuant to Rule 520(4)(c ) when it was alleged by the informant, Stipendary Steward Mr A Coles, that Mr G Cooksley was unable to make the weight for STAR OF RIO being 1kg in excess of the handicap weight.
--Mr Cole stated that Mr Cooksley , on arriving on the race course, advised him that he would not be able to make the contracted weight for STAR OF RIO. He told Mr Coles that he had accepted the ride earlier in the week and then he had been struck down with flu. Consequently he had found it difficult to get down to his normal riding weight.
--The committee considered the explanation and imposed a fine of $150.
