Mr Bosson is suspended from the close of racing on Saturday February 4th up to and including racing on Friday February 10th. This equates to four North Island race days:

Facts:
Following the running of Race 7, New World Island Bay Handicap, an Information was lodged by Mr J Oatham alleging a breach of Rule 638(1)(d) in that O Bosson angled his mount STEPPENWOLF outwards passing the 300m when not sufficiently clear of WILLBEOKAY which was forced outwards crowding HARLEM”N”CO onto AWATANE which checked QUEENOFHARPZ.
Rule 638(1) (d) provides: A Rider shall not ride a horse in a manner which the Judicial Committee considers to be careless.
Mr Bosson confirmed to the Committee that he admitted the breach.
Mr Goodwin identified the runners involved and showed all three available videos. Mr Bosson was racing back in the field when, at approximately the 300m, he angled his mount outwards forcing a run. This began a chain reaction forcing three riders outwards until Mr Cameron on the outside was checked. Mr Goodwin said that while some of the affected runners may have moved outwards away from Mr Bosson’s mount, the interference only occurred as a result of Mr Bosson’s actions.
Mr Bosson admitted coming out but said it wasn’t a sharp movement, the chain reaction was slow and the horse that was eventually checked was tiring.

Mr Oatham said Mr Bosson’s New Zealand record over the last 12 months was clear. Mr Bosson advised that he was suspended once while he was riding in Hong Kong. The Stewards described the level of carelessness as low level explaining that while Mr Bosson forced a run, where there wasn’t one available, it was not an abrupt movement. Mr Oatham submitted that a term of suspension towards the low end of the scale was appropriate.
Mr Bosson advised of riding commitments next Saturday and said he was riding everywhere throughout the North Island. Mr Oatham confirmed that Mr Bosson had been riding recently in both the Central Districts and the Northern region.
Reasons for Penalty:
In coming to a decision on penalty the committee took into account all of the submissions presented. We adopted a 5 day starting point as outlined in the Penalty Guide for Judicial Committees.
Mr Bosson drifted outwards and made slight contact with Mr Hannam’s mount which set up a chain reaction across the track. There were four horses mentioned on the information as being involved in the incident but it was really only the horse on the outside ridden by Mr Cameron who was checked, and we note that this horse was tiring at the time of the interference. Looking at Mr Bosson’s initial movement we placed the degree of carelessness at the low end. Taking this into account along with Mr Bosson’s good record, and his ready admission of the breach we have allowed a one day discount and impose a four day suspension.
