Following the running of race 4 the Otautau Vets Ltd Mobile Trot Stewards lodged a Protest under r870 (3) and the Breaking Horse Regulations, against the fifth placed TOLKIEN. The Information alleged that TOLKIEN broke from its gait in the home straight for approximately 80 metres and continued in a gallop to the finish line. Mr Larsen represented the connections of TOLKIEN and did not contest the Protest.
