Following the running of Race 5 a protest was lodged by Stipendiary Steward, Mr P Knowles.
| -- DECISION AND REASON --Following the running of Race 5 a protest was lodged by Stipendiary Steward, Mr P Knowles. --Mr Knowles alleged that approximately 40 metres short of the winning post LISDEN ONE (JW Cox, Jnr) ran outwards checking NOT ALL BAD (T Chmiel) causing it to lose its chance of finishing in second place. Mr Cox admitted his horse had caused the incident and that it should be relegated. --Video evidence was shown by Mr Allison (Asst. Stipendiary Steward) both back-on and side-on. This clearly confirmed the allegation by Mr Knowles, and the admission by Mr Cox. --Accordingly the protest is upheld and No.3 LISDEN ONE is relegated to third place, and No.12 NOT ALL BAD is promoted to second place. --Judges Placings: 10, 3, 12, 2, 8, 4 --Amended Placings: 10, 12. 3., 2, 8, 4 |
