At the conclusion of race 6 The Highview Standardbreds/Justa Tiger Mobile Pace Mr Renault (Stipendiary Steward) showed the Committee several video clips of the incident alleging that Mr JW Cox (Le Sol) used his whip in an improper manner and outside the confines of the sulky when striking the sulky disc on two occasions in the run home.
Submissions for Decision:
Mr Cox after having admitting the breach stated that he had simply made an error of judgement. He stated that Le Sol needed to be kept up to his work to produce his best and that he had misjudged his whip action.
Reasons for Decision:
The Committee was satisfied that Mr Cox had breached the rule by using his whip outside the confines of the sulky and striking the sulky disc on two occasions.
Submissions for Penalty:
Mr Renault told the Committee that he believed the breach was at the lower end of the scale.
Mr Cox did not make any submissions on penalty.
