Following the running of race 1, the Williams and Kettle Mobile Pace, a protest was lodged against 1st placing being awarded to FAMILY SPIRIT driven by DJ Butcher.

--It was alleged that FAMILY SPIRIT broke shortly after the start and failed to settle for some distance.
--At the commencement of the hearing the information was presented which had endorsed upon it a statement from Mr Butcher stating that he did not contest the protest.
--The committee were then shown the films of the early part of the race, these demonstrating FAMILY SPIRIT going off stride, shortly after the start was effected, and continuing along in a break for some considerable distance.
--The duration of this break being estimated at being some 200m.
--DECISION AND REASON
--The committee finds that the distance covered by FAMILY SPIRIT while in a break was excessive and as such it gained a considerable advantage as a result.
--The regulations give latitude up to a distance of 150m while in a break however on this occasion this distance has been significantly exceeded.
--The protest is therefore upheld and FAMILY SPIRIT is disqualified from the race.
--The amended placing’s now being;
--1st CRUSHERDUST
--2nd CELTIC KERN
--3rd DESIDI
--4th MISU
