--Following race 3 an information was filed pursuant to Rule 858(1)(c) when it was alleged by the informant, Mr C George, that Ms L Cropp, the rider of SAN BERNARDINO, made contact with another party prior to weighing in by way of shaking hands.
----Ms L Cropp pleaded guilty to the charge.
----Ms L Cropp said that the owner of the horse shook her hand prior to weighing in, and she was really unaware of it until viewing the film.
----Mr C George demonstrated on the video film the alleged incident which confirmed his observations. Mr C George made the Committee aware he is trying to stamp out these procedures.
----PENALTY:
--Mr C George submitted a fine in the vicinity of $100 - $200 was appropriate.
----Ms L Cropp had nothing further to add.
----The Committee considered all submissions and believed a fine was the appropriate penalty, and accordingly a $150 fine is imposed.
