Apprentice James McDonald (assisted by Mr W. Jeffcoat) admitted a breach of Rule 858(1)(c)  in that he being the rider of (Martini Red) made contact with another party prior to weighing in by way of shaking hands.

Following the racemeeting at the Waikato Racing Club on the 15^th December 2007 Mr J P Oatham Stipendiary Steward asked the JCA panel at the Te Aroha Jockey Club on Wed 19^th Dec to adjudicate on a breach of Rule 858(1)( c) by apprentice J McDonald.

Apprentice James McDonald (assisted by Mr W. Jeffcoat) admitted a breach of this rule in that he being the rider of (Martini Red) made contact with another party prior to weighing in by way of shaking hands.

Mr Oatham made submissions on penalty in that Mr McDonald had admitted the breach and that this was the second breach of this rule on this raceday. A penalty fine of $150 for a previous admitted breach of the same rule by another rider at the same meeting had been imposed and Mr Oatham asked for a similar fine.Apprentice J McDonald and Mr Jeffcoat agreed that the incident had occurred.

The panel took these submissions into consideration including admission of the breach and that a previous fine had been incurred by another rider at the same meeting for a similar incident and imposed a fine of $150.
