Rules:

Hearing Type (Code):

Decision:

Following Race 2 an information was lodged by Stipendiary Steward Mr J P Oatham pursuant to Rule 871 (1) (d) alleging Mr R Norvall, rider of MAC RIANE, permitted his mount to shift inwards approximately 150 metres after the start when not sufficiently clear,

Following Race 2 an information was lodged by Stipendiary Steward Mr J P Oatham pursuant to Rule 871 (1) (d) alleging Mr R Norvall, rider of MAC RIANE, permitted his mount to shift inwards approximately 150 metres after the start when not sufficiently clear, dictating DANSEUR NOBLE, ridden by S Collins, causing tightening to ACCUSTOM, ridden by S Spratt, and DAB, ridden by J McDonald, who were checked.

--

--

Mr Norvall admitted the charge.

--

--

Assistant Stipendiary Steward Mr Williamson demonstrated the video which showed, soon after the start, Mr Norvall, when not sufficiently clear of the field, moving across from midfield to the rails. In doing so he dictated the inward movement of DANSEUR NOBLE on to ACCUSTOM with the resultant checking of DAB.

--

--

As Mr Norvall admitted the charge we have only to adjudicate on penalty.

--

--

Mr Oatham gave Mr Norvall's record which showed he had not been suspended in the last 2 1/2 years. He did say, however, that the offence was of a serious nature which deserved a suspension.

--

--

Mr Norvall had nothing to add.

--

--

The Committee, after taking into account :

--
    --

    --

  1. Mr Norvall's record --

    --

    --
  2. A guilty plea --

    --

    --
  3. The severity of the offence --

--

--

Suspend Mr Norvall from the conclusion of racing on 14 November 2007 till the conclusion of racing on 18 November 2007 (4 days).
