Following the running of Race 5 the Stipendiary Stewards lodged an information instigating a charge against Mr Jellyman [Kos I Kan] under Rule 867.
| -- DECISION & REASON ----Following the running of Race 5 the Stipendiary Stewards lodged an information instigating a charge against Mr Jellyman [Kos I Kan] under Rule 867. The Stipendiary Stewards alleged that Mr Jellyman had his foot out of the sulkey foot rest for approximately 200 meters over the concluding stages of the race. During that period he continued to drive his horse out including hitting it with his whip. ----The Committee at the outset of the Hearing noted that the plea was admitted by Mr Jellyman and that he did not wish to be heard the charges accordingly found proven. The Stipendiary Stewards demonstrated the incident with the assistance of the video films which clearly showed that Mr Jellyman's left foot was out of the rest for the period as stated by the Stipendiary Stewards. ----The Stipendiary Stewards sought the normal monitory penalty for such an offence noteing that there were no previous breach of the rule in respect of the Rule for Mr Jellyman over the last 12 months. ----Accordingly a fine of $100.00 is imposed. ----
