The judges placings for race number 9 were 1st No 12, 2nd No 2, 3rd No 9, 4th No 11, 5th No 3, 6th No 7. --This was a protest against horse No 3 which finished 5th on the grounds that Specialiam galloped for a distance of approximately 150 meters in the run home thereby being in breach of rule 870 (3). This protest was not contested by the connections and Mr. Muirhead sought disqualification of Specialiam from 5th place. --Decision and Reasons. --As this protest was not contested by the connections of Specialiam this Judicial Committee orders that Specialiam be disqualified from 5th place in race number nine. --The amended places for this race now read 1st No 12, 2nd No 2, 3rd No 9, 4th No 11, 5th No 7, 6th No 5. |
