Apprentice rider C Rauhihi appeared before the committee charged with a breach of Rule 520 (4) (c) being that he failed to make the carded weight of ARADHANA, an acceptor in race one.
--Mr Rauhihi, who was assisted by Trainer A Sharrock, admitted the breach.
--PENALTY
--Prior to making his submissions on penalty Mr Ray produced Mr Rauhihi's riding record. This demonstrated no previous breaches of this rule over the past 12 months. When addressing penalty Mr Ray told the committee that Mr Rauhihi was 1 kg overnight when he presented himself at the scales and as such he was unable to ride ARADHANA.
--It was Mr Ray's submission that Mr Rauhihi be fined a modest sum.
--Mr Sharrock, in his submissions on behalf of Mr Rauhihi, acknowledged that this was an appropriate penalty.
--After considering the matter it is our finding that Mr Rauhihi be fined the sum of $100.00.
