The information alleges that A Tata rider of Waitaha Tane allowed his mount to move inwards when not clear of Cape Rose, Joanne Rathbone at the bend out of the straight on the first occasion.
--Mr Tata admitted the breach and was present at the hearing.
--The rule was read and Mr Tata acknowledged he understood same.
--Mr Goodwin demonstrated head on and side on films of the alleged incident and put his interpretation on same. Mr Tata had no questions of Mr Goodwin and did not, when given the opportunity to do so, want to give his interpretation of the films.
--Mr Goodwin then made submissions as to penalty, it was his view that the interference was of a minor nature.
--Mr Tata for his part asked the Committee if they would consider a fine rather than a suspension, as he was riding all over the country and was in fact fully booked for all meetings that had Hurdle or Highweight races.
--Mr Goodwin when asked, gave the Committee Mr Tata's record, which he said was very good and to the best of his knowledge Mr Tata had not had a charge of any nature for some 2 ? years, Mr Tata acknowledged that was correct.
--When arriving at a penalty the Committee took into account Mr Tata's very good record, his admission of the breach and the fact the breach was of a minor nature.
--However, he did move in when not sufficiently clear and the breach does warrant a term of suspension.
--Mr Tata may ride until the conclusion of racing or Saturday the 15th of April and is then suspended from riding until the conclusion of racing on Wednesday the 19th of April, in effect 2 days.
