An Information (7279) was lodged by Stipendiary Steward Mr Davidson alleging that apprentice Jockey Miss C Tetzlaff was unable to make her riding weight with allowance of 54 kg on "Ice Pack" and was 1 kg over at 55 kg.  Breach of Rule 520 (4) (C).



An Information (7279) was lodged by Stipendiary Steward Mr Davidson alleging that apprentice Jockey Miss C Tetzlaff was unable to make her riding weight with allowance of 54 kg on "Ice Pack" and was 1 kg over at 55 kg.  Breach of Rule 520 (4) (C).  She was replaced by Miss J Morris.  Miss Tetzlaff admitted the breach.

Mr Davidson stated that Miss Tetzlaff had recently returned to race riding from holiday, and on the first day of the three-day meeting (Saturday 11 April 209) she rode a weight of 53 ½ kg., which he commended Miss Tetzlaff on.

Miss Tetzlaff stated that she had little to eat in between race days and had exercised on Sunday following the first day of the Meeting, and again had been for a run on the morning of the races.

Mr Pitman supported Miss Tetzlaff stating that she had made a real effort watching her weight and he was surprised at her being overweight.  Mr Pitman also suggested that it would be helpful if some scales could be made available for riders over the meeting.

Submissions on Penalty

Mr Davidson stated that Miss Tetzlaff had been fined $75.00 at the Southland Racing Club meeting on December 13, 2008, under the same Rule, and on this occasion he recommended a range of penalty from $150 to $200.

Miss Tetzlaff was fined the sum of $150.00 and reminded of her professional obligations.
