Stipendiary Steward Mr S. C. Ching laid an information pursuant to Rule 508(2) alleging Licensed Trainer Mr S. J. Kennedy failed to declare a rider, by the time prescribed, for his horse PASSIONELLA in Race 5. Mr Kennedy admitted this breach and advised that he did not wish to attend the hearing.
--Mr Ching advised the Committee that no rider had been declared by the required time. Declaration of riders was supposed to have been completed by
--1-00pm on Monday 7 January 2008. Mr Kennedy had already been given the benefit of a warning for a previous breach of this Rule.
--PENALTY
--In relation to penalty Mr Ching advised a fine of $50-00 was usual for a first offence. We were satisfied that a fine of $50-00 was appropriate and Mr Kennedy was fined this amount.
