(b) any gear, appliance or device used or to be used in a race is of good quality and is in good order and condition.
Mr Renault informed the Committee that AVALON PETITE had to be attended at the starting point prior to Race 6 and it was necessary for the horse’s front shoes to be replaced by the Club’s farrier. The start of the Race was held up and eventually started late. The shoes were not in good order and condition, Mr Renault said. The situation was drawn the attention of the starter by the horse’s driver (R T May) and the farrier was called.
--Mr Bebbington had not breached the Rule previously. Mr Renault recommended a fine of $100.
--The Committee took into account Mr Bebbington’s good record and his admission of the breach.
