DECISION AND REASONS:
--Following the running of Race 9, Plough Hotel Bar & TAB & Restaurant Pace, an information was filed by Stipendiary Steward, Mrs K R Williams, against Licensed Graduation Driver, Ms M A Perriton, alleging a breach of Rule 869 (2) (a) in that Ms Perriton, as the driver of DELIGHT MAKER in the Race, used her whip excessively in the run home.
----Ms Perriton was present at the hearing of the information and admitted the breach. The charge was, accordingly, found proved.
----A video replay of the Race from the straight entrance was shown to the Committee. Ms Perriton’s actions were pointed out and it was alleged that she had used her whip approximately 28 times in the run home. Ms Perriton did not dispute that allegation and it was borne out by the video replay.
----Ms Perriton declined the opportunity to make any submissions in relation to the charge or penalty.
----Having regard to Ms Perriton’s very frank admission of the breach and her previous good record, she was fined the sum of $200.
