Following the running of Race 7 and information was lodged by the Stipendiary Steward instigating a protest in respect of Lanark Town placed forth by the Judge.
| -- DECISION & REASON ----Following the running of Race 7 and information was lodged by the Stipendiary Steward instigating a protest in respect of Lanark Town placed forth by the Judge. The Stipendiary Stewards alleged a breach of Rule 870 [4] and the galloping regulations. ----Mrs K. Williams said that after the start of the race Lanark Town galloped for in excess of 150 metres and in her estimation approximately 200 metres. She demonstrated this with the use of the video evidence. ----Mr N. McIntyre referred the Committee to the survey map of the course which showed that the distance from the 2600 metre start to the finish line was 170 metres and by reference to the inside track markers that Lanark Town was out of its correct gate for approximately 30 metres after the finishing post. ----Ms Law for her part accepted the evidenced of the Stipendiary Stewards and that Lanark Town should be disqualified from the Race. ----The Committee therefore orders that Lanark Town be disqualified the placing now reading 7,8,6,2,5,9,10,12,14 and 11. ------ -- --
