Following race 5 an information was filed pursuant to Rule 871(1)(d) when it was alleged by the informant, Stipendiary Steward Mr J Oatham, that G Cooksley rider of HOWMUCHYACHARGING committed a breach of that Rule

DECISION & REASON:
--Following race 5 an information was filed pursuant to Rule 871(1)(d) when it was alleged by the informant, Stipendiary Steward Mr J Oatham, that G Cooksley rider of HOWMUCHYACHARGING committed a breach of that Rule when he shifted away from the fence near the 400 metre mark when not clear of WAIKEEPADACASH ridden by Ryan Allwood resulting in interference to that runner.
----Mr G Cooksley admitted the breach at the earliest opportunity and we take that into account.
----The Committee viewed the incident on head-on/side-on videos. Mr McCutcheon demonstrated the incident on video.
----After hearing submissions on penalty from Mr Oatham and Mr Cooksley we have determined that a suspension be imposed. Mr Oatham submitted a suspension was required. He pointed out that WAIKEEPADACASH suffered a sharp check. He said Mr Cooksley had a reasonably good riding record and is a popular rider.
----Mr Cooksley submitted that a fine was appropriate. We don?t agree. A suspension is required in this case. Taking into account your explanation, plea of guilty and good riding record your jockey's licence is suspended from the conclusion of racing on 29 March up to and including 5 April 2006.
