DECISION & REASON:
--Following race one an information was laid against J Fleming, rider of AZVAINAZ (number 6). The charge reads that "she shifted her mount in shortly after the start when not clear, resulting in interference to LADY CAVALIER (C Ormsby) and DIAMONDS ON FIRE (C Treymane)." Miss J Fleming admitted breaching Rule 871(1)(d), careless riding.
----The Committee viewed the race videos and had the benefit of Mr McCutcheon's interpretation of the incident. Briefly you shifted inwards after the start when not clear resulting in interference to LADY CAVALIER and DIAMONDS ON FIRE.
----After hearing submissions from Mr Oatham/Miss Fleming, we have determined a suspension must be imposed.
----Mr Oatham pointed out that two horses suffered interference/tightening shortly after the start. We note your prior riding record on 27.12.05 for a similar type of careless riding after the start.
----We accept your explanation that this was an error of judgement . We give credit for your early plea of guilty.
----Your jockey's licence is suspended from the conclusion of racing on 29.3.06 up to and including 15.4.06, 5 days.
