Following race 6 an information was lodged by Stipendary Steward Mr J Oatham pursuant to rule 871(1)(d) when he alleged that Miss N Collett angled her mount MR ARMADEUS out to obtain a run when not clear causing a check

Following race 6 an information was lodged by Stipendary Steward Mr J Oatham pursuant to rule 871(1)(d) when he alleged that Miss N Collett angled her mount MR ARMADEUS out to obtain a run when not clear causing a check to SISTER VERONICA (M Wenn) and TRESPIER (T Russell) near the 200 meter mark.
--Miss Collett, who admitted the charge, was represented by Mr D Roberts.
--Mr Coles demonstrated the video and he showed, soon after entering the straight Miss Collett angle MR ARMADEUS out when not clear of SISTER VERONICA on her outside. Ms Wenn had to check her mount which resulted in Mr Russell having to check his mount also.
--As Miss Collett had admitted the charge the committee has only to consider the penalty.
--Mr Oatham said that Miss Collett has been riding for 12 months and she had a clean record. He did say that he considered a suspension was appropriate penalty on this occasion and asked for a penalty in the vicinity of 4 days.
--After due consideration and taking into account
--1. Miss Collett’s admission of guilt.
--2. The seriousness of the offence.
--3. Miss Collett’s clear record.
--The committee suspend Miss Collett from riding beginning after the conclusion of racing on 3 January till the conclusion of racing on 11 January 2008 (4 days).
