Following race 2 an information pursuant to Rule 865 (a) was lodged when Stipendiary Steward Mr J Oatham requested a ruling as to whether MY PRIZE BIRD was denied a fair start.
Following race 2 an information pursuant to Rule 865 (a) was lodged when Stipendiary Steward Mr J Oatham requested a ruling as to whether MY PRIZE BIRD was denied a fair start.
--A video was shown which clearly showed the number one gate which MY PRIZE BIRD had drawn was slow to open. Rider Mr T Russell said that he had to force his way out through the un-open gate.
--Accordingly MY PRIZE BIRD was declared a non-starter due to the malfunction of the starting gate.
