Following Race 8 an information was filed pursuant to Rule 871 (1) (d) by the informant, Stipendiary Steward Mr J Oatham. He alleged that Mr M Cropp, the rider of DANSKEWITHU, shifted in after the start causing a check to IRISH DIAMOND (J McDonald) and MAGIC SUN (M Wenn) with both horse losing ground.

Following race 8 an information was filed pursuant to Rule 871 (1) (d) by the informant, stipendiary steward Mr J Oatham. He alleged that Mr M Cropp, the rider of DANSKEWITHU, shifted in after the start causing a check to IRISH DIAMOND (J McDonald) and MAGIC SUN (M Wenn) with both horse losing ground.
--Mr Cropp pleaded guilty and was represented by Mr T Wenn.
--Stipendiary Steward Mr Williamson, demonstrated the video films and showed shortly after the start Mr Cropp angled his mount inwards and took the line of IRISH DIAMOND and MAGIC SUN when not the required distance clear, resulting in both horses losing ground.
--Mr Wenn said, in Mr Cropp defence, it was due to his lack of experience, his mount not been tractable and expected Mr Cropp to learn from his mistake.
--Mr Oatham said, Mr Cropp was inexperienced, only his second day of riding, but highlighted that significant interference had occurred shortly after the start.

Penalty
--Mr Oatham submitted a suspension of 4 days would be appropriate.
--Mr Cropp said he had no riding engagements. Mr Wenn said he would like the penalty to start immediately.
--Decision
--The Committee considered all submissions and before imposing a penalty took into account the following:
--1: Mr Cropp’s inexperience.
--2: His guilty plea.
--3: Co operation with the Stipendiary Stewards.
--4: The severity of the interference received by Mr McDonald and Ms Wenn.
--Accordingly, we impose a suspension to start after racing on the 26th July 2008 and conclude after racing on the 2nd August 2008 – 4 Days.
