Following Race 8, an information was filed pursuant to Rule 613(d). The Informant, Stipendiary Steward Mr J Oatham alleged, that Trainer Mr A Scott presented SAN DELAGO to race in work shoes.

Following Race 8, an information was filed pursuant to Rule 613(d). The Informant, Stipendiary Steward Mr J Oatham alleged, that Trainer Mr A Scott presented SAN DELAGO to race in work shoes.
--Mr R. Hewitson represented Mr A. Scott at the hearing, he admitted the breach.
--Mr Oatham said San Delago was presented at the plate inspection in work shoes approximately 15 minutes prior to race start time. The horse was officially late scratched 10 minutes prior to the race.
--Mr Hewitson stated the horse had work shoes on the front and was plated on the back.
--PENALTY SUBMISSIONS
--Mr Oatham submitted that this late scratching affected the connections and betting public and recommended a fine in the range of $400-$600.
--Mr Hewitson had nothing to offer on penalty.
--PENALTY
--The Committee carefully considered the evidence presented .We informed Mr Hewitson that the breach had a serious impact on connections and the betting public. We recommended the stable should have a procedure in place to avoid this from occurring again. Accordingly we impose a fine of $500.
