----
Ms Williams has admitted a breach of rule 871(3) in that she gave a celebratory gesture some 2 to 3 strides or 10 to 15 metres before the winning post.
----Mr J Davidson, stipendiary steward, has referred to the $1500 fine imposed in the recent Innes case, where the winning stake was much higher. The parties made reference to a similar incident earlier in the day at Waikato where Mr J Collett was fined $400 for a similar breach. The stakes there were $100,000 compared to the $75,000 for the White Robe Lodge Stakes. We are aware that Ms Williams has a particular affinity with PINS AND NEEDLES and are prepared to impose a penalty proportionate with that of Collett.
----We fine Ms Williams the sum of $300 but remind her in no uncertain terms of her responsibilities under the Rules of Racing. We note Ms William's immediate response that she will not commit a similar breach of the Rules in the future.
