Mr Ching stated declarations closed at 10 am on Thursday 26 February but a rider was not declared for OUR MONEYBOX until about 11.15 a.m. that day. Mr Hazlett had explained the declaration had been overlooked because they had been busy.

Mr Ching noted that Ms Gerard had last breached the rule some 9 years ago, and suggested the usual penalty of $50.

Taking into account the above circumstances and Ms Gerard’s admission, we impose a fine of $50 and remind the trainer of her obligations under the Rules of Racing.
