--
Under Rule 871 (4) Stipendiary Steward Mr S Ching alleged that Mr S Moir left the designated jockeys' area without the permission of the stewards.
--Mr Moir admitted the offence.
--Mr Ching stated Mr Moir had said he was getting money from the EFTPOS facilities, which at Oamaru are located at the betting windows in the rear of the stand - outside the designated jockeys' area. Mr Moir said he required the money to pay for photos. Mr Ching also said that Mr Moir was wearing his racing silks at the time, which presented a wrong image to the public. Mr Moir confirmed this information and stated he was aware of the Rule but it had slipped his mind.
--Mr Ching said it was a first offence under this Rule by Mr Moir, and he had freely admitted the breach and should receive credit for this.
--Mr Ching asked for a fine similar to that given at the Canterbury Jockey Club recently - this was $100.
--Mr Moir had no submission.
--Taking into account it is a first offence and Mr Moir's ready admission, we fine Mr Moir $100.
