Ms Cameron you?ve admitted a breach of rule 858(1)(a) in race 8 in that you failed to weigh in after finishing in 6th place on HEZGOTTOW. We have confirmed that there were 5 stakes bearing placings.
----In mitigation you state that you were unaware that you had finished 6th, that upon talking to the trainer of the horse after the race he indicated that it had finished "nowhere", and that the female jockeys' room is away from the scales, and therefore, unlike the male jockeys, you did not have to walk past the scales which may have reminded you of your obligation. You added that it was difficult to hear the call at Oamaru and that a steward informing the jockeys of the placings would assist.
----As Mr Ching emphasised, and you accept, it is your responsibility under the Rules of Racing to weigh in as required. Mr Ching has said that he gave you a warning for a similar matter some 6 months ago. But the Committee notes that your record is clear with respect to this rule. Balancing these matters, we believe the breach can be dealt with by way of a fine. We fine you the sum of $100 and remind you of your obligations under the Rules of Racing.
----In addition, pursuant to rule 856(1) we disqualify HEZGOTTOW from 6th place. Amended placings are: 6, 1, 9, 8, 14, 10.
