Facts:
Following Race 1 Stewards lodged a Protest into the fourth placed Sheza Mighty Monarch. Stewards alleged that Sheza Mighty Monarch broke from its gait and was lapped on by the fifth placed Westland Peak at the finish. The Protest was lodged under r 870 (5).
The official placings were:

Submissions for Decision:
Mr Renault stated that Sheza Mighty Monarch broke free of interference approximately 40 metres from the finish and that driver Mr C Thornley made every attempt to return the horse to its proper gait. However, Sheza Mighty Monarch continued on in a break until the finish line and was lapped on by Westland Peak at the finish.
The Protest was not contested by the horse's connections.
Reasons for Decision:
After viewing the video the Committee is satisfied that Sheza Mighty Monarch is in a break at the finish line and is lapped on by Westland Peak.
