Following the running of Race 1, Active Electrical Mobile Pace, an information was filed by Stipendiary Steward, Mr N M Ydgren, against Licensed Public Trainer, Mr P F Kerr, alleging that Mr Kerr, as the trainer of TANISA BROMAC in the Race, "presented and raced TANISA BROMAC in gear, namely hopples, which were in an unfit state to be raced in".

DECISION AND REASONS:
--Following the running of Race 1, Active Electrical Mobile Pace, an information was filed by Stipendiary Steward, Mr N M Ydgren, against Licensed Public Trainer, Mr P F Kerr, alleging that Mr Kerr, as the trainer of TANISA BROMAC in the Race, "presented and raced TANISA BROMAC in gear, namely hopples, which were in an unfit state to be raced in".
----Mr K J Stevens, a part-owner of the horse, as Mr Kerr's representative, signed the Statement of Defendant on the information form indicating, firstly, that the breach was admitted and, secondly, that he did not wish to be present at the hearing of the information. The breach was, accordingly, found to be proved.
----Mr Ydgren informed the Committee that, shortly after the start, TANISA BROMAC was "pushed forward" by its driver (C T Woodward) when the hopple snapped, causing the horse to break and be retired from the Race after 150-200 metres. The hopple carrier had snapped due to "overuse", Mr Ydgren said.
----Mr Ydgren recommended a fine of $200. Mr Kerr was fined the sum of $200.
