Following the running of Race 2 an information was laid by Stipendiary Steward Mrs K. R. Williams instigating a protest against Decoy Runner (11)
| -- DECISION AND REASONS: --Following the running of Race 2 an information was laid by Stipendiary Steward Mrs K. R. Williams instigating a protest against Decoy Runner (11) driven by Mr J Wigzell which was placed fifth by the Judge. It was alleged that Decoy Runner had failed to promptly regain its proper gait after it broke in the straight prior to the finishing line. --Video coverage of this incident was shown to illustrate that Decoy Runner had been in a break for more then 50 metres when it reached the finishing line. Disqualification of the horse was sought. --Mr Wigzell attended this hearing and he did not contest that his horse should be disqualified. Accordingly Decoy Runner is disqualified from fifth placing. The amended places are as follows --1st - (15) Tiberius --2nd - (1) OK Phil --3rd - (2) Sharealike --4th - (6) Life Goes Bye --5th - (12) Copper N Gold --6th - (4) Star Gate ---- -- -- ---- --
