Following the running of Race 2, the Ecoholdings Media Group Pace, Stipendiary Steward Mr N. G. McIntyre laid an Information charging Mr S Lethaby with a breach of Rule 859(a)(ii). The Information reads as follows.

"I the above named informant allege that the above named Defendant committed a breach of Rule 859(a)(ii) in that Driver S Lethaby failed to parade Westburn Spirit through the straight on the first occasion."

Rule 859(a)(ii) reads as follows.

--

"859. A horseman:-

    ------
      --
    1. may drive his horse in its preliminary in either direction provided that:-
--
    ------
      --
    1. ?..
    2. --
    3. the horse is first paraded through the straight in the correct way of the course ?."

Mr Lethaby had indicated on the information that he admitted this breach of

the Rules and he did not appear at the hearing.

Mr McIntyre told the committee that Mr Lethaby offered no reason for parading the horse incorrectly and had just forgotten the correct manner of parading.

--

In relation to penalty Mr McIntyre said that Mr Lethaby is a senior horseman and recommended a fine of $100.00.

--

The committee was satisfied that the recommended fine was fair and Mr Lethaby was fined the sum of $100.00.
