DECISION AND REASONS:
--Following the running of Race 3, the Avon City Ford Focus Mobile Pace, an information was laid by Stipendiary Steward Mr N. G. McIntyre against Mr G. M. Craw, the driver of "Elrae Night" (13), alleging a breach of Rule 869(3)(b), careless driving, when allowing his horse to strike a sulky in front of him causing his own horse to break.
--Mr Craw had indicated on the information that he admitted this breach of the Rule, and that he did not want to be present at the hearing.
--Penalty: Mr McIntyre said that Mr Craw had no previous convictions for careless driving, and recommended a fine of $200-00. I was satisfied that a fine of $200-00 was appropriate and Mr Craw was fined this amount.
