--Following the running of Race 2 an information was laid by Stipendiary Steward Mrs K. R. Williams alleging a breach of the "lapped on" rule, Rule 870(5), by Desert Blaze (10) driven by Mr G. Smith. Mr Marshall the trainer of Desert Blaze attended the hearing and advised that he did not contest the protest.
--Video coverage of the race was used to show that Desert Blaze finished in 3rd place at which time it was in a break. At that time Desert Blaze was lapped on by the 4th and 5th placed horses, Lukes Creek (4) and Motu Armbro Scott (12).
--Accordingly Desert Blaze was relegated to 5th place. The amended places are as follows.
