Stipendiary Steward Mr S. P. Renault filed an Information against Open Horseman Mr M. G. Heenan alleging a breach of Rule 869(3)(b). It was alleged that Mr Heenan drove carelessly with approximately 300 metres to run when allowing his horse “Curtin’s Folly” (9) to strike the wheel of “Platinum Plus” (2) (Mr R. D. Holmes) causing his own horse to break.

It was alleged that Mr Heenan drove carelessly with approximately 300 metres to run when allowing his horse “Curtin’s Folly” (9) to strike the wheel of “Platinum Plus” (2) (Mr R. D. Holmes) causing his own horse to break.
--Mr Heenan had indicated on the information that he admitted this breach of the Rules and that he did not wish to attend the hearing.
--The Stipendiary Stewards used video coverage to illustrate this incident. Mr Heenan had no relevant previous convictions, and as he admitted the breach a fine of $200-00 was recommended.
--We were satisfied that this was an appropriate amount.
--Accordingly Mr Heenan was fined the sum of $200-00.
