| -- DECISION AND REASONS: --Following the running of Race 7, SBS Southland Building Society / Hellers Smallgoods Free-For-All, an information was filed by Chief Stipendiary Steward, Mr N R Escott, against Licensed Open Horseman, Mr B N Orange, alleging a breach of the push-out rule in that Mr Orange, as the driver of HARNETT?S CREEK in the race, shifted out with 1900 metres to run forcing ROSS THE BOSS (K M Barron) to race wider on the track. ----Mr Orange admitted the breach. ----Mr Escott informed the Committee that Mr Orange had not breached the push-out rule within the last 12 months. He also acknowledged that Mr Orange should receive some credit for his admission of the breach. However, he said, the meeting was a premier one and the stake for the race was $25,000. Mr Escott recommended a fine of $250. ----The incident was clearly demonstrated on video replays shown by Stipendiary Steward, Mr S T Larkins. ----Mr Orange made no submissions in relation to penalty when given the opportunity by the Committee ----Mr Orange was fine the sum of $250. ------ -- ----
