--Following the running of Race 3, the P J Jeans Mobile Pace, an information was lodged by Stipendiary Steward Mr N. G. McIntyre against Mr B. Purdon, licensed trainer of Power of Tara (5), alleging a breach of Rules 865(4). It was alleged that Power of Tara was presented in the assembly area without the ear plugs that it raced with on 14 November 2006.
--Mr Purdon had indicated on the information that he admitted this breach of the Rules and that he did not wish to attend the hearing.
--Stipendiary Steward Mr McIntyre advised that this was a $20,000-00 race, and that a fine of $200-00 was recommended. We were satisfied that a fine of $200-00 was appropriate and Mr Purdon was fined this amount.
