Following the running of Race 8 an information was lodged by Stipendiary Steward Mr N. Ydgren against Mr P. J. Howlett alleging a breach of Rule 867 in that Mr Howlett drove Love That Lavros with his foot out of the footrest over the concluding stages.

DECISION AND REASONS:
--Following the running of Race 8 an information was lodged by Stipendiary Steward Mr N. Ydgren against Mr P. J. Howlett alleging a breach of Rule 867 in that Mr Howlett drove Love That Lavros with his foot out of the footrest over the concluding stages.
--Mr Howlett indicated on the information that he admitted the breach and elected not to appear at the hearing.
--Mr McIntyre showed the video of the final stages of the race that showed Mr Howlett having his foot out of the footrest for the majority of the length of the home straight.
--PENALTY:
--Mr Ydgren advised that Mr Howlett had no previous conviction for a breach of this rule and the standard fine of $100.00 was recommended. The committee agreed with this recommendation and a fine of $100.00 was imposed.
