Following the running of Race 4, the Nearea Franco Mobile Pace, an information was filed by Stipendiary Steward Mr S. P. Renault against Ms M. L. Price, Open Horseman, alleging a breach of Rule 869(2)(a), in that she used the whip excessively over the concluding stages of the race.

Following the running of Race 4, the Nearea Franco Mobile Pace, an information was filed by Stipendiary Steward Mr S. P. Renault against Ms M. L. Price, Open Horseman, alleging a breach of Rule 869(2)(a), in that she used the whip excessively over the concluding stages of the race.
--Ms Price had indicated on the information that she admitted this breach
of the Rules, and also that she did not wish to attend the hearing. The charge was found to be proved accordingly.
Mr Renault used video coverage to show that Ms Price had used her whip on about 20 occasions over the concluding stages of the race.
--Penalty:
--Mr Renault advised that Ms Price had no relevant previous convictions, and recommended a fine of $200-00. We were satisfied that the fine recommended was appropriate in this case, and accordingly Ms Price was fined the sum of $200-00.
