Stipendiary Steward Mr N. M. Ydgren has filed an Information against Licensed Trainer Mr N. R. McGrath alleging a breach of Rule 865(2). It was alleged that Mr McGrath failed to advise that CHILLI (7) would be wearing pull down blinds in Race 9, the Stallion Station Easter Cup.
Stipendiary Steward Mr N. M. Ydgren has filed an Information against Licensed Trainer Mr N. R. McGrath alleging a breach of Rule 865(2). It was alleged that Mr McGrath failed to advise that CHILLI (7) would be wearing pull down blinds in Race 9, the Stallion Station Easter Cup. Rule 865(2) has been amended, and as from 1 April 2009, a horse may only race in different notifiable gear when such change has been notified in the manner prescribed in the Approved Gear Regulations.
--Mr McGrath had indicated on the information that he admitted this breach of the Rules and that he did not wish to attend the hearing. The Stipendiary Stewards recommended a fine of $50-00 in this case, and we were satisfied that this was an appropriate amount. Accordingly Mr McGrath was fined the sum of $50-00.
