Stipendiary Steward Mrs K. R. Williams has filed an Information against Licensed Trainer Mr D. A Taylor alleging a breach of Rule 865(2). It was alleged that Mr Taylor failed to advise that SWINGER (13) would be wearing earplugs in Race 3, the Air New Zealand Grabaseat Mobile Pace.
Stipendiary Steward Mrs K. R. Williams has filed an Information against Licensed Trainer Mr D. A Taylor alleging a breach of Rule 865(2). It was alleged that Mr Taylor failed to advise that SWINGER (13) would be wearing earplugs in Race 3, the Air New Zealand Grabaseat Mobile Pace. Rule 865(2) has been amended, and as from 1 April 2009 a horse may only race in different notifiable gear when such change has been notified in the manner prescribed in the Approved Gear Regulations.
--Mr Taylor had indicated on the information that he admitted this breach of the Rules and that he did not wish to attend the hearing. The Stipendiary Stewards recommended a fine of $50-00 in this case, and we were satisfied that this was an appropriate amount. Accordingly Mr Taylor was fined the sum of $50-00.
