--Following the running of Race 7, the See NZ – Aussie Rivalry On Cup Day Handicap Trot, an information was filed by Stipendiary Steward Mr N. G. McIntyre against Mr M. G. Austin, Licensed Trainer of “Tina Turner” (1), alleging a breach of Rule 864(2)(d). It was alleged that the seat of the sulky came adrift during the running of this race.

--Following the running of Race 7, the See NZ – Aussie Rivalry On Cup Day Handicap Trot, an information was filed by Stipendiary Steward Mr N. G. McIntyre against Mr M. G. Austin, Licensed Trainer of “Tina Turner” (1), alleging a breach of Rule 864(2)(d). It was alleged that the seat of the sulky came adrift during the running of this race.
--Mr Austin had indicated on the information that he admitted this breach of the rules and that he did not wish to attend the hearing. Video coverage of the incident was used to show that shortly after the start of the race the seat on the sulky came adrift, and driver Mr B. Orange had to discard it and complete the race without a seat.
--Mr McIntyre recommended a fine of $200-00 in this case. We were satisfied that the amount recommended was in line with penalties imposed for similar breaches. Accordingly Mr Austin was fined the sum of $200-00.
