At the conclusion of race 6 The PGG Wrightson AON Insurance Brokers Mobile Pace an information was lodged by Stipendiary Steward Mrs K Williams alleging that under rule 869(3)(b) Mr C Hanna drove carelessly when shifting down for a run checking Von Regal (M Williamson) causing this runner to fall.
Facts:
Mrs Williams (Stipendiary Steward) used the video clips to illustrate where Mr Hanna driver of Twin River had moved downwards and made contact with Von Regal driver Mr Williamson causing that horse to fall and lose all chance.
Mr Armour agreed with the video evidence but suggested that the committee take into account some mitigating factors. Firstly that Mr Black (driver of Franco Nick Nack) whilst pulling the earplugs had allowed his horse to duck in a little thereby affecting the running line of Mr C Hanna.
Another contributing factor according to Mr Armour was the fact that the racing this day was much tighter because of the increase stakes.
