Decision: -- Following the running of race one on the programme, an Information was lodged against Mr R Holmes, the driver of Coq D’Or, alleging a breach of Rule 507A, in that he was unavailable to take his drive until 5 minutes prior to the event. Mr Holmes admitted the breach and elected not to be present. Explaining the circumstances, stipendiary steward Mr Ydgren said that, prior to race one, Mr Holmes was down in the stables and got involved in gearing his horses for races later in the day. Consequently, he was late into the birdcage and not available at the required time - 15 minutes before race start time - for his drive on Coq D’Or. In respect to penalty, Mr Ydgren recommended a fine of $50.00 In this case, driver Mr Holmes has admitted that he was unavailable to take his drive until 5 minutes prior to race one, in breach of Rule 507A. The committee is satisfied that the recommendation of the stewards is not inappropriate and Mr Holmes is fined the sum of $50.00. P H Welch Chairman
