Following the running of race four on the programme, an Information was lodged against Mr DC Morrison, the trainer of Ochiltree Boy, alleging a breach of Rule 865(4), in that he presented Ochiltree Boy in the birdcage without spreaders.

----Mr Morrison admitted the breach and elected not to be present.
----Explaining the circumstances, stipendiary steward Mrs Williams said Mr Morrison brought Ochiltree Boy into the birdcage. He was questioned regarding the horses gear because he had presented the horse with spreaders on the first day. Mr Morrison agreed that was the case and he returned and put them on before competing in the race and running a place.
----In respect to penalty, Mrs Williams said that Mr Morrison admitted the breach and she recommended a moderate penalty consistent with such an indiscretion.

----In this case, Mr Morrison has admitted a breach of Rule 865(4) in that he presented Ochiltree Boy in the birdcage without spreaders, which had been used the first day.
----The stipendiary stewards have recommended a moderate monetary penalty and, in the absence of submissions from Mr Morrison, I am satisfied a fine of $100.00 is appropriate and consistent with the breach. A fine of $100.00 will apply.
