--An information instigating a protest lodged by Stipendiary Steward, Mr J Muirhead, against SPRINGFIELD MASTER, driven by Mr B Mangos, and placed 4th by the judge, on the grounds of breaking from its gait free of interference 100 metres from the winning post and galloping for the remainder of the race.
--Mr L Hollis, owner and trainer of SPRINGFIELD MASTER endorsed the information, "I do not contest protest," and was present at the hearing.
--Mr Muirhead demonstrated the incident by use of the video film. SPRINGFIELD MASTER broke from its gait free of interference and galloped the last 100 metres of the race. In accordance with the provisions of the Breaking Horses Regulation, it is mandatory for the horse to be relegated or disqualified.
--In accordance with JCA policy, SPRINGFIELD MASTER was disqualified.
