DYING TO RULE placed 4th by the Judge broke free of interference and galloped at least 60 metres inside the last 200 metres of the race.

Mr Muirhead showed the video film of the last 200 metres of the race. DYING TO RULE broke free of interference with about 80 metres to run and only got back into its proper gait about 10 metres before the finish of the race.
Reasons for Decision:
The Breaking Horses Regulation provides that where a horse breaks from its gait free of interference in the last 200 metres of the race and continues on in the break for a distance of 50 metres or more, it shall either be relegated or disqualified. This is a clear cut case. DYING TO RULE has breached the Breaking Horses Regulation and the breach is admitted.
